Our Commitment to the Environment
Located on a pristine curve of the Wonnerup estuary, between the beach and the tuart forest, we take our responsibility seriously and designed the chalets to have a light impact. From the waterwise native garden and energy efficient appliances to the solar battery system and rainwater collection, we strive to to invest in sustainable options that minimise our impact on the environment.
Holiday with a lighter touch
SOLAR

In keeping with our commitment to reduce our impact, the chalets are powered by a 22kw solar battery system with grid backup, meaning we are powered by sunshine during daylight hours, and the battery at night. This provides around 80-90% of electricity for the chalets and keeps electricity supplied to the chalets for several hours in the event of a power outage.
WATER
Rainwater is collected and filtered through a Puretec Hybrid G7 system which reduces sediment, chemicals including chlorine, bad taste and odour, and kills 99% of bacteria using ultraviolet technology, a natural purification process that’s completely eco-friendly and chemical-free.
Please be considerate with your use of water as the only time that the tank will fill is during winter rains.

SUPPORTING LOCAL

Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are made in Margaret River by Vasse Virgin, and their refillable dispensers reduce single-use plastic waste.
AEROBIC TREATEMENT UNITS (ATU) SEWERAGE
This property processes all wastewater through an ATU system. The system can only handle wastewater, human waste and toilet paper. Please do not put anything else down the sink or toilets. Please use a bin for wet wipes, nappies and sanitary items, as these products will clog the system and may result in a call out from a plumber. These whole-house systems treat all wastes to a secondary standard and the treated water is then used to irrigate our gardens.
